»A League of Their Own - Baseball Part II«
Nachdem ich mir vor zwei Wochen in Iowa den Drehort von »Field of Dreams« angeschaut hatte, kam mir am Wochenende die spontane Überlegung, mir einen anderen Drehort anzuschauen. Ebenfalls Baseball: A League of Their Own.
Anmerkung: Ich sehe einiges an Hollywood und entsprechenden Schauspielern mehr als kritisch, falls es dir nicht bekannt ist: Madonna und Tom Hanks spielen in diesem Film mit. Doch das ist ein anderes Thema und darauf möchte ich hier nicht näher eingehen, die Geschehnisse in und um den Sumpf in Hollywood werden zeitnah an die Oberfläche kommen.
Mir ging es heute einfach nur darum, diesen Ort anzuschauen, zu fühlen. Und das hat gepasst, die Atmosphäre dort ist wunderbar. Obendrein hatte ich großes Glück, denn im Prinzip war das Stadion nicht geöffnet. Der Pförtner machte eine Ausnahme und ließ mich für 10 Minuten auf die Tribüne.

After watching the movie site of “Field of Dreams” in Iowa two weeks ago, I spontaneously thought about checking out another filming location at the weekend. Also baseball: A League of Their Own.
Note: I am more than critical of Hollywood and its actors, in case you are not aware: Madonna and Tom Hanks are in this movie. But that's another topic and I don't want to go into that here, the events in and around the swamp in Hollywood will come to the surface soon.
For me, today was simply about looking at this place, feeling it. And that was fine, the atmosphere there is wonderful. On top of that, I was very lucky because the stadium wasn't actually open. The gatekeeper made an exception and let me into the stands for 10 minutes.
