»Einen schönen Sonntag aus einem kleinen Nest in Indiana«
Die letzten zwei Wochen waren ziemlich abgefahren und ereignisreich. Sowohl unglaublich schön, als auch erschreckend. Das Schöne hat deutlich überwogen, weil ich wunderbare Tage mit tollen Menschen verbringen konnte.
So waren da die Momente mit Janine & Roger, in ihrem idyllischen Ort am Mississippi in Iowa. Welch ein herzlicher Empfang, wir führten tolle Gespräche, und hatten tolle Erlebnisse, es hat einfach alles wunderbar gepasst. Ich wäre gerne länger geblieben, musste jedoch weiter in Richtung Norden zur Rallye von Donald Trump in Wisconsin. Danke für Alles, Janine und Roger, ich freue mich auf unser Wiedersehen.
Was sich dann beim Präsidenten abspielte, übertraf alles, was mir in meiner Vorstellung vorschwebte. Tausende Patrioten, eine sagenhafte Atmosphäre - ein wirklich großartiger Tag, es hätte nicht besser sein können. Zumal ich Joshua am Eingang kennen lernte und er uns Sitzplätze nur 20 m entfernt vom Rednerpult entfernt besorgte. Danke Joshua, Du bist ein beeindruckender Mensch. Fotos und Videos dazu habe ich in meinem Telegram Kanal gepostet, leider alles mit dem Handy, weil Kameras innerhalb des Geländes nicht erlaubt waren.
Nach 4 Tagen im Norden und diesen euphorischen Stunden brauchte ich eine Auszeit, und so fuhr ich wieder südlich durch Wisconsin, um Cheryl & Rod zu besuchen. Auch wir verstanden uns nach 20 Sekunden, und ich entschied mich, vier Tage und drei Nächte bei ihnen zu bleiben. Wir haben jeden Tag ausgefüllt, super schöne Orte gesehen und Dinge erlebt. Zudem, wie schon mit Janine und Roger, führten wir tolle bis intensive Gespräche, quasi, ohne Pause. Danke auch an euch, Cheryl & Rod, ihr seid fantastisch, bis bald in Madison.
Naja, und dann kam die Ernüchterung. Illinois. Ich fuhr nicht nach Chicago rein, kratzte die Stadt aber und bekam einen Schimmer davon, was sich in den „blauen“ Regionen in Amerika ereignet. Böse bis katastrophal. Man mag mir unterstellen, an der ein oder anderen Stelle in meinem Telegramm Kanal übertrieben zu haben, doch kann ich meine Eindrücke nicht zurückhalten. Und das, was ich erlebte, dass möchte ich kein zweites Mal sehen.
Nun bin ich gestern im entspannten Indiana angekommen. Ich mag diesen Staat auf Anhieb. Viele kleine Straßen durch schöne Wälder, diese durchgezogene gelbe Linie, die das ganze noch idyllischer macht, hier passt vieles. Leider musste das Auto erneut repariert werden, zumal ich inzwischen über 5.500 km gefahren bin und der Keilriemen fällig war. Heute wird zudem noch ein kleines Ersatzteil im Motorraum ausgetauscht. Dann geht es am Nachmittag weiter. Und bis dahin genieße ich jetzt mein Frühstück in diesem wunderschönen »Diner 84«.

»Happy Sunday from a little nest in Indiana«
The last two weeks have been pretty crazy and eventful. Both incredibly beautiful and terrifying. The good things clearly outweighed the bad, because I was able to spend wonderful days with great people.
There were the moments with Janine & Roger in their idyllic place on the Mississippi in Iowa. What a warm welcome, we had great conversations and great experiences, everything was just perfect. I would have liked to stay longer, but had to continue north to Donald Trump's rally in Wisconsin. Thank you for everything, Janine and Roger, I look forward to seeing you again.
What happened at the President's rally was beyond anything I could have imagined. Thousands of patriots, a fabulous atmosphere - a really great day, it couldn't have been better. Especially as I met Joshua at the entrance and he got us seats just 20 meters away from the lectern. Thank you Joshua, you are an impressive person. I posted photos and videos on my Telegram channel, unfortunately all with my cell phone because cameras were not allowed inside the grounds.
After 4 days up north and those euphoric hours, I needed a break, so I drove back south through Wisconsin to visit Cheryl & Rod. We also hit it off after 20 seconds, and I decided to stay with them for four days and three nights. We filled every day, saw super beautiful places and experienced things. In addition, as with Janine and Roger, we had great to intense conversations, virtually without a break. Thanks also to you, Cheryl & Rod, you are fantastic, see you soon in Madison.
Well, and then came the disillusionment. Illinois. I didn't drive into Chicago, but scratched the city and got a glimmer of what's happening in the “blue” regions of America. Bad to catastrophic. I may be accused of exaggerating at one point or another in my Telegram channel, but I can't hold back my impressions. And I don't want to see what I experienced a second time.
I arrived in laid-back Indiana yesterday. I like this state straight away. Lots of small roads through beautiful forests, this solid yellow line that makes the whole thing even more idyllic, a lot fits here. Unfortunately, the car had to be repaired again, especially as I have now driven over 5,500 km and the fan belt was due. A small spare part in the engine compartment will also be replaced today. Then I'll continue in the afternoon. And until then, I'm going to enjoy my breakfast in this typical American “Diner 84”.
